The Miller AEAD-200 LE's are good stick welders. They are old welders now, and parts for the Onan motors are still mostly available but you may have to search to find them at reasonable prices. I have used mine on everything from sheetmetal to 1/2" rods, and plates. I purchased mine for $500 with battery, and 10ft of leads.
With some simple wiring, you can retrofit the TIG Perfect into other welders as well - such as the Miller Syncrowave for example. This usually just involves splicing two wires and thats it. "Universal" welder selection includes an additional RJ45 cable to aid in installation.

I don't know enough about welders to even know what TYPE this is...it says things like 'arc' and 'spot' on the sides, yet has a bunch of hoses coiled on the sides. There were conversion kits available at one point which would make them accept a modern gun with a modern Miller back end, and that makes a big difference. Around here those machines seem to run $500-750 in decent shape. If it still has the old style gun, you have to modify the machine to accept modern guns and that takes some time and effort.

I recently picked up an old Miller gas welder. It has a Tecumseh motor. I was told the only thing it needed was an ignition coil and a battery.
